Climbing is not just a sport, it is something more. How do I get that grip, how do I position my body? These are the clasics we ask ourselves when we start climbing, and the answer is that it is not only a matter of strength, it is also about how I use my body with the rock and how I get used to the vertical sensations.
We can all improve, no matter where we are, and it’s good that we do it safely at all times. If we do it through weekly classes, knowledge and skills will be acquired gradually.
To gain mastery and to improve ourselves, we are going to break down rock climbing in various aspects and we are going to work on each of them:
The first of them is gesture technique. This depends on the terrain with which we find ourselves and is learned in the form of resources. How do I face this route if it is a slab? How do I position my body when climbing overhanging wallls?
The next in order of importance will be the psychological aspects and especially the management of fear. Fear is going to come sooner or later, how am I going to relate to it?
Likewise, there are other strategic areas of work with: visualization of routes, the rhythm of my climbing, how I tackle difficult steps…
